Minutes:  April 13, 2004

 

In attendance:  Jim Tryon, Don Noack, Don Partridge, The Rev. Carole

Unable to attend:  The Rev. Brian Taylor, The Rev. Gary Meade, Patricia

Discussion & Actions:

1. Ongoing Communication Problems:  There was further discussion  concerning

problems with e-mail not reaching intended recipients and about  how to

solve same.  Diane will  talk with other listserv administrators and Carole

will contact the  moderator of HoB/D.

2. A discussion concerning holding a Steering Committee retreat in June was

followed by a motion and approval to plan a Saturday retreat in June.  Diane

will poll members to determine a date when all can be in attendance.  The

agenda should include long  term goals and objectives for VMRG.

3. Carole and Don Noack will work together to plan small group meetings

across the diocese.  Specifically, Carole will call clergy and lay members

to determine interest and availability to coordinate meetings in particular

towns.  Don will work with  Carole to develop an agenda for the meetings.

This is a discussion item for the next meeting on  4/27/04.

4. Items for a newsletter will be submitted to Diane within the next week.

Diane will talk to Gary about formatting the final newsletter.

Items to be included are:

·      Reports from Days of Discernment

·      Don Noackıs Outreach Document

·      Communications Update

·      Via Media USA report

·      Other?

5.  Meeting location will alternate month to month between  St. Michaelıs

and All Angels and St. Thomas of Canterbury.

6.   A  discussion concerning affiliating with Via Media USA was followed by

a  motion, second, and unanimous vote for VMRG to affiliate with the

national  group.  Diane Butler along  with one clergy will represent VMRG.

7.  Response to ³The Living Church² articles was deferred to the next

meeting.

 

The next meeting will be April 27, 2004 at St. Thomas of Canterbury.
