Minutes: February 10, 2004

In Attendance: Fr. Brian Taylor; Fr. Gary Meade; Don Partridge; Diane Butler; Don Noack; Jim Tryon; Patricia Riggins.

Unable to Attend: Fr. Richard Murphy.

Discussion:

1. Work to establish regional VM chapters in southern part of state. Are other regions viable? How to foster inclusivity to do VM work? Look to Deanery Structure? VM Steering committee role to facilitate regional groups and help sustain energy.

2. Letter coming out from Diocese re profile, discernment days and rumored letter of censorship.

3. Letter from Standing Committee of Delaware reviewed.

4. General themes of communication:

a. Position VMR as a voice

b. Continue to state our mission and goals

c. Correct inaccuracies in statements made through Diocesan communications

d. Clarify mission

Actions Taken:

1. Agreed upon sub-committee structure. See attached document

2. Representatives to attend Via Media USA in Atlanta 3/22-25/04

3. Don Noack to contact representatives who attended El Paso meeting.

4. Patricia to write response to letter pulling from meeting summary.

5. Create Newsletter to encourage participation in Diocesan events and support general themes above.
